Over our eight years as an OT private practice, Adapt OT has evolved from the shared name of two Occupational Therapists with compatible values and clinical experience, into a go-to team of experienced and innovative Occupational Therapists.

Peta McKenna - Occupational Therapist

Peta McKenna

Director & Occupational Therapist

 

After graduating from LaTrobe University in 2003 Peta worked for many years in the public health sector before transitioning to private practice in 2016. Peta completed a Masters in Public Health in 2016 and is passionate about working with her clients to promote health and independence.

Peta’s experience and skills in comprehensive assessment and report writing make her well regarded for her Housing and Support Needs assessments and she is a strong advocate for her clients.

Amy Zuluaga - Occupational Therapist

Amy has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the Geelong region since 2006. With a strong clinical background in neurology and aged care within the public health sector, Amy works with her clients on their goals and adopts an enthusiastic and innovative lens in the private OT landscape.

Amy has a particular interest in home modifications, is a qualified Access Consultant and a Registered Assessor for Livable Housing Guidelines.

Amy thrives on finding practical solutions to home and community access issues and has had a considerable amount of success supporting people to obtain NDIS funding for complex home modifications.

Laine Kennelly - Administration Manager

Laine has a breadth of experience in health and disability related administration, having worked in the public health and mental health sectors for most of her professional life.

As Adapt OT’s Administration Manager, Laine supports the clinical staff and directors with daily operations and ensures that the process requirements of each funding body are implemented for the betterment of clients.

Laine’s calm and highly efficient approach is deeply valued by referrers, clients and colleagues.  

Jess Trotter - Occupational Therapist

Jess graduated from Deakin University in 2010 and worked in regional Victoria, primarily in rehabilitation, before returning to Geelong in 2016. Jess has a wealth of experience providing Occupational Therapy services to people with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities.

Jess has achieved excellent outcomes with complex home modifications and assistive technology to support independence. Jess has a particular interest in seating and wheelchair prescription and is known for her astute assessment.

Jess is a strong advocate for her clients, and her detailed assessments and reports have yielded many successful funding outcomes.

Annmarie completed a Masters of Occupational Therapy at LaTrobe University, Melbourne, in 2006. Annmarie’s professional life has been focused on providing therapeutic services in the public health setting, including many years in Melbourne tertiary hospitals and community care.

Annmarie has years of experience have set her up with an excellent eye for equipment and home modification options, and her knowledge of physical rehabilitation and aged care underpin her astute lens for capacity building and goal based occupational therapy.

Annmarie adopts a warm and efficient manner in her work and has a depth of practice that leads to great outcomes for clients. 

Angharad Williams - Occupational Therapist

Angharad Williams is a highly respected Occupational Therapist, having worked in a variety of clinical and management roles since her graduation from LaTrobe University in 2003. Angharad (Harry) draws on her breadth of clinical knowledge to tailor her input with clients, and genuinely sees the person at the centre of the systems that support them.

Angharad’s experience allows her to provide an excellent service for many types of clients, including equipment-based goals, home modifications, aging in place, and routine building.

Angharad also contributes her wealth of knowledge and innovative mindset to supporting Adapt OT with service development and initiatives that benefit our clients.

Bridget completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University in Geelong and has worked in the community sector since graduating. Bridget’s diligent and thoughtful approach is valued by her clients, along with her calm and collaborative lens on complex situations.

Bridget leans in to opportunities for professional development so that she can continue to build on her OT skills and achieve great outcomes.

As an undergraduate student, Bridget worked as a Support Worker for NDIS Participants, adding to her depth of knowledge of how the NDIS systems interlink to support people to build their capacity and function.

Taylah Stephens - Occupational Therapist

Taylah graduated from Deakin University, Geelong in 2018 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Taylah’s professional experience has seen her work closely with people across every stage of life, but at Adapt OT Taylah’s role is primarily with capacity building for adult clients and providing advice on equipment and minor home modifications for older adults living in their own homes.

Taylah has a passion for supporting people to connect with their communities and realise their potential. Taylah’s compassionate and non-judgemental, strength’s based approach is an asset to her clients, as is her commitment to continual professional development.

Wendy’s long and meaningful career in the community services sector is the basis of their responsive and strengths-based approach to work as an Occupational Therapist.

Wendy studied the Master of Occupational Therapy at Swinburne University where their excellence was recognised through invitation to the Golden Key Honour Society and an offer to continue in a sessional teaching capacity.

Casey completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University, graduating in 2020. As an Occupational Therapist, Casey has had experience working with clients across the lifespan, but feels most passionate about her work with adults in the disability sector. She strives to drill down to what is most meaningful to her clients, and works hard to identify the barriers that make it difficult for people to live their best life.

Casey is diligent and efficient in her work, and her gentle, curious and non-judgemental approach puts her clients at ease from the beginning.

Lewis Nagle - Occupational Therapist

Lewis graduated from Deakin University in 2018 and spent his first five years as an Occupational Therapist in public health services in Ballarat and Geelong, before expanding his scope in the private sector. Lewis has an easy-going, yet efficient and astute manner and is comfortable getting to the heart of difficult scenarios.

Lewis has a passion for home modifications and equipment that will support a person’s goals, and his creative perspective is of great benefit to his clients. Lewis’ years working in trauma, neurological and general rehabilitation have made him a strong client advocate when navigating funding systems and support services that can help a person live their best life.

James completed the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University in 2021 after two years of an Architecture and Construction Management degree.

The intersection of James’ knowledge and passion for universal design and the breadth of human conditions is an asset to his clients as they explore their goals and navigate the built environment.

James has experience working with people across many life stages; from capacity building with young people, through to supporting elderly people to stay in their homes throughout the aging process. James’ warm and diligent approach and his thorough working knowledge of Assistive Technology, home modifications, routine building and local connections is a great advantage to his clients.

Madie completed a Masters of Occupational Therapy Practice at LaTrobe University, Melbourne, following her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Federation University.

Madie has several years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the Aged Care sector and private practice, predominantly with NDIS Participants. Madie is holistic in her approach and enjoys using a creative range of capacity building interventions to support clients to achieve their goals.

With a toolkit of strengths-based practice, and resourceful ideas for assistive technology and home modifications, Madie works with clients on what is important to them.

Rebecca Poynton - Occupational Therapist

Bec has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the private sector since completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Charles Sturt University in 2013.

Bec is well respected for her effective Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessments and reports which have led to good funding outcomes for eligible NDIS participants.

Bec’s knowledge and passion for secure and appropriate housing goes beyond SIL and SDA as she works hard to advocate for people who are exploring the jigsaw of alternative independent living options. With her astute clinical rationale and warm approach, clients love working with Bec to achieve their capacity building goals.
